<div class="spynreplytitle">i have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night</div>
<div class="spynreplycontent">
Albion was an interesting world to say the least. The more time he spent here the more he realized just how ancient it was. From the slow transportation and communication, to a lack of cleanliness to his standards. Christopher had never expected just what he would miss from back home in the Federation. Every day things that he had taken for granted in his world. Even just the clean smell of the city back in San Francisco compared to that of Bowerstone. Particularly the Industrial Quarter, where he'd found himself a home protecting an orphanage. He missed the food from back home, he missed reliable lighting, effective temperature controls, even just the general feeling of the place that this just didn't live up to. Most of all he missed space. He missed the travel and exploration. The closest he could get to hear was to explore the continent which Albion sat on. It would have to do for now, but still he couldn't keep his eyes from wandering to the sky.
<p>
Pike had already been away from commanding a ship for a couple of years. That itself had been hard, coupled with the injury and then his death and torturous resurrection... all he truly had wanted was to get back in that chair. At least one more time. Fate had decided that it was not to be. Not with his Enterprise or any ship for that matter. Here in Albion the admiral just had to accept that. He would never see the depths of space again. He was stuck on the ground in a world that still used horses for vehicles. Maybe his distant descendants in centuries could see space but Christopher himself was out of luck. It was possible that this world would never see Starfleet, or that the Federation would never form. He'd never see the things he had loved so much for his life.
<p>
He'd taken the option of exploring Albion itself to satisfy his explorer mind. He'd heard of Driftwood, a small settlement across a series of little islands. A little known paradise that he had just happened to catch word of. The views are unmatched, said a patron of the bar he had visited a few nights ago, beautiful land and beautiful images of the night sky against expansive water. Pike's interest was grabbed and he insisted that the Albion native share how to get to this place. Chris, who had earned a bit of gold for assisting some overworked lawmen, gave the orphanage notice that he would be going for a vacation and manged to rent a little cottage on the shore. He'd only been in this world for a couple months. He'd settled okay all things considered into assisting the under funded facility. But he was still struggling emotionally and so he decided to put himself first for a bit. Time with beautiful scenes and no responsibilities would be of use for clearing his troubled mind.
<p>
He had settled into the little cottage early that afternoon. Without much in his possession it hadn't been a difficult trip from Bowerstone, just a bit long on his feet. Not that he had truly felt physical exhaustion since the experimentation. The admiral left the structure to walk along the shore, for the most part staring off across the water. There was an interesting dark structure in the distance, a tall pointed tower that reached into the clouds. It gave an eerie feeling, and a passing native had simply called it the Spire when noticing his examination of it, but otherwise hadn't provided much conversation. Whatever it was, the views of Driftwood were certainly things of beauty. Sunset would be worth the time traveling out here. Christopher sat himself down at the end of the little wooden dock that came off of his rented property for most of that afternoon. Ate lunch, attempted to read from a book which that Linden guy had shared with him that might help to understand Albion and it's history a little more. Simple quiet time alone that he had missed so much. A freedom that had been kept from him for quite some time.
<p>
He'd given up the book, setting it back behind him with an exhausted sigh. It felt as if no matter what he did he would never figure out this world. It wasn't like Starfleet research where he could simply go home... Chris looked to the sky, brushing his graying hair back as he considered just going back inside until the sun would start to set. Maybe a nap could clear this negative fog that had started to come back to him. His gaze was firmly on the clear blue sky when the bright light just appeared. Growing from a small white orb he thought was just his eyes playing tricks, it turned into the white swirling portal that he had heard described as the anomaly which had brought him and many others here. But he had not seen it before. With a look of awe he slowly lowered his hand from his hair and couldn't peel his eyes from the sight. It may have felt like a transporter for him when inside, but it didn't look like one. The portal above the water opened up to drop a figure at a fairly high rate of speed right into the water. Christopher sat up quickly, pushing himself up onto his feet to look over the water where the splash had shattered the quiet in the air.
<p>
They didn't come up. His gaze searched the surface for a few seconds longer. <strong>"Dammit, why can't I get a break?"</strong> He muttered to no one in particular as he realized the individual was not swimming themselves back up for air. If they couldn't swim... the admiral hadn't come for swimming but he had no choice. He tossed his weapons beside the already discarded but dry book before he launched himself off the end of the dock. He couldn't have lived with himself if that might have been a person who he let drown in his sight. He swam straight out to the spot in which he had seen the person land. He was a strong swimmer thankfully. Chris took a deep breath before he dove under the water, reaching his hand out as he saw the woman in the water. Admiral Pike pulled his arm around her, pulling her up to the surface with him. He gasped for breath before starting to pull her through the water and back toward land. He was thankful, then, that he had been there in that moment.
<p>
<strong>"You're okay. You'll be okay, I got you."</strong> Pike insisted to the woman as she gained consciousness, keeping a tight hold despite the flailing attempts to keep herself afloat. Dodging less than graceful arms while swimming was a difficult task but the man made it work. He couldn't fault her even for the one time her arm connected with his head. He cringed, but found his feet on the sand as the water got shallower toward the shore. <strong>"Relax... please... I won't let you drown I promise."</strong> He near begged as he stood and pulled her back and out of the water in the sand next to the dock he'd previously been on. As soon as the female was safely on land he dropped to sit on the ground beside her. Not from exhaustion but just done... and honestly worried for her.

<table><td><div class="app-bar"></div></td><td><div class="app-title">Admiral Christopher [Chris] Pike</div></td></table>
<div style="overflow: auto; height: 370px; margin-top: 5px;">Christopher Pike was born in 2205 in California. Growing up he was adventurous, but never quite dreamed of joining Starfleet in his youngest years. He spent some of his childhood off world in a Federation colony. Both of his parents were present and he had a pretty solid life in the younger years. He wasn't always the rational and rule-following individual that he eventually showed to be. His teenage self, once returned to earth, was confident and didn't think near as much before making his decisions. His teenage self may have held some similarities to Jim Kirk that he might not like to outright admit to. He was trouble, too confident and rash for his own good. He liked to push the limits and test the boundaries wherever possible. He likely gave his mother several heart attacks for his behavior. Young Christopher didn't hold the respect for the rules that his adult self learned and often broke them just to test his abilities at avoiding getting caught.
<p>
He was smart enough, finishing school and scoring well on aptitude tests. He was not genius-level but certainly was intelligent and when he really put his mind to it, he had talent. In his later teen years he had met a then captain Marcus who encouraged him toward more productive uses of his ambition, confidence, and skills. Christopher laughed and dismissed the idea of Starfleet. What would he want with such a rule filled organization. At his teen age that was the last thing he had an interest in. He saw the captain a few times over his teenage years, mostly by accident on Chris' part. But once he was eighteen and his life after graduating school proved to be going nowhere due to his rule breaking behavior, he was a bit lost. What could his life really be? He left home to figure it out, but at eighteen and with very little it was miserable. The captain was the one who found him away from home, and repeated his offer to join Starfleet over a meal with the young and lonely man. Christopher scoffed at it, but Marcus asked him what else he was doing with his life. Bouncing around testing the laws and getting caught all his life, or he could be exploring the stars. Pike accepted the invitation finally, claiming it was just because he had nothing else to do so why not.
<p>
Marcus wasn't the gentle fatherly type. He checked up on Christopher in Academy quite often. Got on him about his grades more times than Pike could count. He hadn't asked for a second father, but he probably needed it as it was this tough guidance that got him through the classes in the first place. With someone like Marcus on his case there was no way that he could honestly have failed. At times he resented the older man for any sort of involvement, wanting to live his academy life with a little more fun than the man seemed to want of him. But by the time he graduated he was thanking Marcus for his bit of guidance. Pike graduated, and went on to his assigned ship having a wonderful academy record and a lot of potential. Marcus warned the dangers of space and what they may find, particularly warning against the still someone irrational choices young Pike made. He told the young man it was a good way of getting killed, not giving enough thought to a situation.
<p>
Sadly Pike learned this the hard way. He befriended a crew mate of similar age on his first assignment. They were close. It made much of the down time easier to have a friend aboard. But it wasn't long before this friend, sent on an away mission. The young man never returned, devastating Pike and settling in just how real and dangerous it was. The fun and games were over, pushing the rules and taking chances had gotten his friend killed. He realized in that day how serious he would need to be and there was a switch in his behavior from there.
<p>
Christopher made the record for the fastest to reach the rank of Captain. He was determined and ambitious. With a new found respect for the dangers space held, he was able to rise in the ranks with a much more intellectual tone. He respected his commanding officers, while also still holding the confidence to speak up when things didn't seem to add up. He grew in a short time into a much more rational and thoughtful individual with a deep respect for the rules and Starfleet as a whole despite his earlier reluctance to join. He hoped he made Marcus proud, but continued his career for himself by that point. He found satisfaction in the job and remained dedicated ever since. He commanded a few of different ships as captain and gained quite the respect among his fellow officers. He also went back to work with the academy at some point.
<p>
It was during his time working with the academy that he met a drunk and battered Kirk in a bar in Iowa. Of course it was his cadets who had done such damage but he took the opportunity to pass along the favor Marcus had done for him all those years before. He dared the young man to join Starfleet and to surpass his father, a man who Pike had researched quite a bit. He wasn't sure the dare would work, having seen far too much of his young self in Kirk. He was pleasantly surprised when he did arrive.
<p>
Christopher was given command of the USS Enterprise, the fleet's flagship, earlier than planned when Starfleet received a distress signal from Vulcan. The Enterprise arrived late to find the rest of the fleet destroyed. Contact was made with the attacker, Nero, where Pike was demanded to come to his ship. He left Spock in charge and took a shuttle with a stowaway Kirk, as well as Sulu and another officer to send down to disable Nero's device before he flew to the ship. Pike was taken hostage as soon as he arrived on Nero's ship. The Romulans then attempted to interrogate Christopher into giving them Earth's defense codes, but Pike refused to give the information they wanted. He had no intention of ever breaking and telling them anything, and likely could have held out. Had they not used a centaurian slug to force the information out of him, no matter how strong his resolve could have held out. Pike was later rescued by Kirk, but was severely weakened by the interrogation process.
<p>
Pike was promoted to admiral after the successful defeat of Nero and his rescue. The injuries sustained caused him to temporarily require a wheelchair. Something that the proud and independent man was not entirely pleased with but had no say in either. He was later able to use a cane instead. He was given command of the Starfleet Strategic Operations Center and remained working at headquarters. He served on a promotion review board, and ultimately remained in command of Kirk and the Enterprise as well, who he was honestly proud to see succeed and relieve him of his command of the Enterprise. He may have wished he could have commanded the vessel longer but given his physical state and the events, he truly was proud of Kirk. At least for a little bit.
<p>
Of course Jim Kirk didn't learn the same lessons Pike had in his early career. Despite having seen lives lost in the events against Nero, Christopher believed that Kirk felt infallible, and that he lacked true respect for Starfleet's rules and of being in command. He scolded him for his mistakes on Nibiru like a father disappointed in his son, having to send Kirk back to the academy. He was given back command of the Enterprise at that, but still begged now Head of Starfleet Marcus to allow him to take Kirk on as his first officer instead. Marcus ultimately respected Christopher and apparently the younger admiral made quite the argument because it was granted. He and Kirk were called to a meeting after the bombing of the London archive, making them present for the attack on Starfleet Headquarters by the fugitive man who Pike knew as "John Harrison". Pike called for assistance as the attack started, but was ultimately shot down by Khan's ship. Spock tried to carry him to safety, but the admiral passed in his arms.
<p>
Death was a horrifying feeling. A mixture of so many emotions and so much pain. The last thing he saw was Spock, the feeling of that last moment and that mind meld with the young vulcan hard to describe. Fear of the end, of the pain, the unknown, and as Spock faded from view the feeling of loneliness. It was supposed to be the end. Except it wasn't exactly the end, as he remembered opening is eyes to a bright room. Not where he remembered losing consciousness. If anything had happened between there and here, as far as his consciousness was concerned, he was unaware of it. Unfortunately for Christopher it was not a full-fledged Starfleet hospital like one might have expected. He found himself tended to by the least pleasant doctors he had ever met. They appeared to be Starfleet, but they didn't quite act it. They didn't speak to him as if he was an admiral, they talked about things he had never heard of before. Not only would they not speak to him, but he couldn't get out either. Getting up from bed was near impossible on its own. But they didn't let him out either, within the first couple of days of being awake, he felt as if he was a prisoner rather than a Starfleet admiral. Isolated, unaware of what was going on, on top of feeling weak.
<p>
The only thing from outside that he received was a message from Admiral Marcus, brief and gruff as always. He was apologetic for the nature of Pike's "death" confirming what the man had felt in those moments. It was claimed that Pike had in fact died, but was taken and revived as part of a secret set of experiments. The older admiral tried to convince him that what was happening with him was ultimately for the better for Christopher. He didn't detail what exactly he meant would happen, only that he made the choice to bring him back and that what was about to happen was out of care for Chris. He hoped to make up for his mistakes to his old friend. Unfortunately for Pike, this "making it up" went beyond simply bringing him back from death.
<p>
Pike found himself the subject of multiple experiments by the medical officers that checked up on him. Early on he was weaker as what had been done was experimental on its own. But they worked on him, making his life hell for who knows how long. He wasn't sure how much Marcus knew of their work, but he did know that being kept like a lab rat was not something he would call friendship. From the injections he couldn't possibly know what they consisted of, to the extreme physical tests which sometimes ended in injuries. Something he found to be in testing of his strength or healing abilities. Something which appeared to improve over time although Pike could hardly tell through the pain and illness that came with what they were doing. Chris was kept confined in a very small quarters with very little compared to what he was used to. Eventually he seemed to become almost numb to the world as far as they could tell. He was getting stronger, more resistant to injuries and diseases they purposefully exposed him to. It always felt like torture a they pushed his limits, but eventually it took multiple officers to even control him as they did so.
<p>
Christopher was left with nothing. An empty cell of a home, he'd already lost his life once, lost his career, and in some capacity he lost his identity among the medical personnel "treating" him. It may not have been intentionally torture but it felt like it in every way possible. There became a bit of a routine to how things went in the day and despite his isolation he came to be able to predict when they'd come for him. As he grew stronger he started to resist them, and insisting contact with Admiral Marcus, or anyone of Starfleet. Unfortunately the one time he did manage to escape their grasp and take off in the base, he found the set up to be nothing like any Starfleet facility he had ever seen. He was sedated and captured, and this time he felt he was truly tortured in punishment. Not that it was a first in his life.
<p>
A couple of months later, and things changed. They came for him, but this time as he was escorted the place was being cleared out by everyone else not involved. He tried to use this to his advantage, but this time his escort was ready. He ended up held down, the man fighting until the moment the sedation finally set in and he was out. As per their orders, the team working on the project with Pike placed him into a stasis. Marcus may have been gone but his request to do so and protect Pike from anyone outside remained. Admiral Parker shut down much of Marcus' secret projects, including this base, to appease the other admirals and public that they were not in fact allied with the rogue admiral's activities. The reports on Christopher got lost in the many issues that Parker had to handle, and so for several months he was left to sleep. Eventually Parker's assistant did come across Pike's file in the working projects, and brought it to Parker's attention immediately.
<p>
A rescue team was sent to retrieve him, including a highly qualified doctor who could hopefully help him if he were alive. He was awoken again in the same base. Chris woke up with the same anger he had been put into his sleep with, attacking the rescue team without too much thought into it, believing them to be the same people. One of Parker's prized cadets, who Pike recognized by his large blue body, was the one who came to the rescue of the doctor and prevented injuries. It took a while and convincing before Christopher could even dare to trust that they were on his side. It had been his old friend and mentor who ordered his torture. Even Parker was difficult to trust after that. He was desperate though to return to the way things had been. He had lasted for through the torture with his strong resolve more than his ever increasing actual strength. But he wanted to get back to his world, his life, not this. Parker promised that, and so once Christopher was stable he was taken back to Starfleet Headquarters.
<p>
Due to the unknown nature of what had been done to him, and uncertainty about his mental state, Parker had him housed in a nearby apartment and monitored. It was a real home, with real food. While Parker's doctors did medical exams regularly over the next couple of months they were less invasive and they were like he was used to before. He was discovered to have gained some of the strengthened abilities similar to Khan, whose blood had in fact been partly used in his revival and been the basis for the other experiments as well. Christopher could walk on his own, and without any signs of any past injury. He rivaled Rokojak in strength and the previous experiments documented an advanced healing ability as well. He couldn't match Khan in strength or intellect, but he was certainly stronger than the humans around him. A fact that partly scared the older man.
<p>
He befriended Parker's assistant, and her cadet friend who were sent by the admiral to keep him company while providing opinions on his mentality and progress toward re-acclimating to actual life. In a way, while they were sent to help him, he felt like he had begun to help them. Recently he has been trusted with some "paperwork" responsibilities. Early in the first month of his time back in the headquarters area he was given a choice to remain in Starfleet or retire based on the events that had occurred. He chose to stay, believing his use to not be done for them. He would remain loyal and he was not the type to give up on anything.
<p>
Some time after the Enterprise was assigned its five year mission, he was allowed to return fully as an admiral. In a discreet reassignment, as his existence had remained a secret to avoid any sort of problems in any way. Despite the events, he has seemed to have adjusted, his behavior returning to that of before. He may have nightmares, he may sometimes show signs of the trauma, but on a whole he remains Admiral Pike as most remembered him from a year ago.
<p>
Unfortunately, he only got a couple of weeks back to his old job. While joining the rest of the admirality in headquarters for a meeting, he started to feel odd. He got to the meeting room before the bright light surrounded him. From his angle, as well as the other command officers in the meeting room it appeared to be some foreign transporter. It dropped him, instead of in a ship, into the woods of some strange earth-like land. Chris had seen a lot in his life, but this was definitely a new one.</div>

<div style="overflow: auto; height: 370px; margin-top: 5px;">The highly skilled weapons-maker for the Survivors village, Rex hadn't started his life anywhere near snow. In fact until later in his life he had not seen snow in person. His original home was the land of Aurora. During his childhood it was fairly peaceful. He had a normal life for his village. Friends, a large family, a family business to keep up. He was taught from a young age for the family craft. Making blades was his specialty from the beginning. Starting with small daggers well before the age of ten and graduating to full size swords through his early teens. He was his father's pride early on and that has driven him for much of his life.
<p>
Rex was born the middle child of five. His family were large and wealthy in Aurora. Making and selling quality weapons which were essential for survival had it's benefits. Rex was always the maker of the family. One of his older brothers was naturally drawn to the business end. Money, making trades, setting up deals, and just overall sales. But Rex wasn't so interested in the money as he was the skilled craft. There wasn't much better than the pride in holding a weapon forged by your own hands. Handing it over where it would save the customer's life some day. It was rewarding on its ow and Rex was used to the family's wealth. He wasn't expecting that to change. He kept the family business running and everything was going well. The Evanders had a comfortable and peaceful life that didn't seem like it could ever change.
<p>
Then the Darkness came. It took his father and two of his siblings. It hit the village hard. Hit them all so bad. Rex and his mother were closest, and she took it the worst. Her husband had been the love of her life... and eventually his loss became the end of her own life. Rexton buried his father, his mother, and two brothers in the same year. He was left to take care of his younger sister and run the family business just with his older brother. Everyone was paranoid of the darkness, Rex included, and so the family kept as careful as they possibly could be. They tried to provide useful weapons but their attacker didn't seem to be quite as vulnerable as other desert creatures they had previously fought. There was only so much even a master smith like Rexton could do in that time.
<p>
Rexton provided weaponry for the Auroran assistance for the queen's rebellion against Logan. He was more than willing to supply what he could for the effort, knowing the queen had promised to help them defeat their enemy that threatened to wipe out their entire civilization. While Rex was never a fighter himself he could help with something still. He did have some skills, self defense and all, but was never highly trained. Enough to test and spar and save his life in an emergency for the most part. Certainly not enough to run off into a war personally. But Rexy likes to at least think he was crucial in the success of the Auroran rebels.
<p>
After the defeat of King Logan, Rex went back to supplying Aurora with weaponry against their own problems and building defenses for the coming war. With the defeat of the darkness he thought things were going better. Revenge and seeing the thing defeated was nice. Peace came over his home and things began to look up. He was just getting comfortable with no longer having to hide when a portal grabbed him out of his shop. Snatched him up, and dropped him in the coldest and strangest place he had ever seen... if Ed Lane hadn't found him and given him a coat and shelter, he would be dead. Now he works as the survivors blacksmith making sure they have the weaponry needed to fight the zombie hordes that pound at their gates. </div>

29 ■ Criminals ■ Thief

</div></div></div></div></div><div style="width: 250px; background-color: #fafafa; padding: 20px"><div class="bohone">

Petra is a girl displaced from a dystopian society, fighting for a rebel cause and disappearing in the night, zapped to Albion along with William Wolf, a man she trusts about as far as she can throw him. She'd scared, even if she won't admit it or show it because of how she was trained, and she's trying to find her way back, not willing to give up hope just yet. Beyond that, she's a thief, but not your average thief. She's good, though she credits it to her training from the future. She steals what she needs to survive and that's it, occasionally something more. She's just trying to find a way to thrive in this world where she'd a stranger. She had a rough past in her future, being kidnapped, tortured, branded by the group that William Wolf belonged to up until 10 minutes before she got sent back. She won't go spilling her life story to just anyone, you have to be close to her and even then she'll be hesitant with the details.
<p>Any help in this, either her getting caught stealing or her getting other help would be greatly appreciated! And thus, her tale begins, but how will you involve yourself? Hit me with any ideas that you have for this! ^^<p>
<br /><font color=#808080>friends: N/A</font>
<br /><font color=#808080>neutral: William Wolf</font>
<br /><font color=#808080>enemies: N/A</font>
<br /><font color=#808080>lovers: William Wolf</font>
<p><br />
<p>friends She is lacking in the friend department, especially considering her entire life and everything she knew had disappeared, leaving her with nothing to go on. She'll be looking for like-minded people, people she deems survivors and those who can help her live on and give her some sense of stability.
<p>enemies At this point, with her status as a thief/criminal, the law is her enemy because of the strange customs, dress, speech, ect. She will be looking to hide from the law whenever she can, but it'd be fun for her to get caught/arrested and have to find a way to break out if anyone is down for it.
<p>lovers This category is currently taken with a very complicated status with William Wolf, as mentioned, she trusts him about as far as she can throw him, but he's her only tie back to the life she once knew. He was part of the group they were fighting against until he claimed to change sides and being forced to train. While they aren't lovers yet... it's gon happen.
<p>family She really doesn't have any family unless a sibling gets zapped back as well. Even then, she does not have a good relationship/history with her family.
